Who We Are

When an earthquake strikes Italy, it’s felt in Canada.

According to the 2016 Canadian census, approximately 1.5 million Canadians – representing more than 4 percent of the country’s population – claim full or partial Italian ancestry.

TIERF was founded by members of Greater Toronto’s Italian Canadian community, who can trace their roots back to the very soil being ravaged by earthquakes. When these Canadians see their friends, cousins and countrymen devastated by natural disasters, they open their hearts – and their wallets – to help.

TIERF’s Executive Team and Board of Directors consists of leaders in the Italian Canadian community who have generously agreed to give their time to this important cause.
